Tears Flood the Capitol
Collage by Molly Kyles
This collage combines protest imagery from two movements — Black Lives Matter and Queer Nation — to highlight the usage of mourning as a vehicle for political action. In both the fight against AIDS and the fight against police brutality, death has been integral to activism. This collage explores the power of grief to inspire political change, hence the idea of tears 'flooding the Capitol.'
